Children
In the gospel of Matthew our Lord Jesus Christ said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 19:14) Given Jesus’ words, instructing the mind and shepherding the heart of children with the Scriptures is important. In a warm and loving environment, we want to help kids of all ages understand from the Bible their need for a Savior and that Jesus is their Deliverer.
At the same time, we want to teach them how they ought to respond to God’s amazing love shown in Christ—faith and obedience. We come alongside parents in this God-honoring task through various ministries.
Our programs for children at Manor include Kids Worship and a Sunday school catechism club.
Youth
"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,"
The Scriptures are full of young people who loved the Lord and sought to follow him (1 Sam. 2 & 3, 1 Sam. 16; 2 Kings 22; Luke 1 & 2). They were instructed in the faith (2 Tim. 3:14-17), mentored by others (Titus 2), and were connected to the people of God for ministry (Eph. 4:11-16). We want to help the youth at Manor to do the same.
On Sunday nights, from 6-7pm, we have a time of teaching from the Scriptures. There is also Sunday school available on Sunday mornings. Additionally, throughout the year there are opportunities for service to those in the church and outside of it, such as mission trips and local service projects.
Small Groups
"And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus."
Acts 5:42 tells us that the people of God gathered together in homes where God’s Word was taught and fellowship enjoyed. At MPC, there are several groups that meet regularly for the same purpose. They gather together either monthly or bi-monthly for study, prayer, singing, service, and mutual encouragement. Please contact the church office for more information.
Fellowship
A Coffee & Fellowship time is scheduled into each Sunday morning.
Adult and Youth Sunday Schools are held generally from September thru May. Special fellowship events occur regularly, every 1 -2 months.
Various small groups meet in individual homes.
One or two church picnics are planned each year.
We have special services during the Easter and Christmas Seasons.
Deacon Care
This ministry consists of a variety of things. A Deacon Mercy Offering is taken the 2nd Sunday of each month. With this Manor is able to assist in various needs of our members.
This ministry also donates to three local ministries: Pregnancy Resources at Cornerstone, Gap, PA; The Bridge Ministry Center, West Grove, PA; and The Point in Parkesburg, PA
Prayer
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 3:6
The people of Manor church not only pray for one another, but it is also our privilege to pray for the needs of people who are connected with Manor in some way.
We meet for congressional prayer every other month. Another strategic way that Manor prays effectively is via our email prayer chain. If you are in need of prayer, consider sending us a current or ongoing prayer request and our prayer team will join you before the throne of God.
